@ijeomatoo: A Second Instagram Just for Beauty and Fashion

@ijeomatoo is a beauty and fashion account with around 16.1k followers, built by someone who already runs a much bigger Instagram presence elsewhere. Her bio spells it out plainly: this is “my new second Instagram profile dedicated to all the beauty and fashion things I love,” a deliberately separate space from wherever she keeps her main audience. That framing matters, because it shapes everything about how the account is run: no politics, no personal essays, no crossover content. Just makeup, style, and the small rituals that come with both. It is a useful case study precisely because it is a spin-off, not a first attempt at building an audience, which shows in how deliberately the page is organized from the very first scroll.

What they post and how

The feed leans hard into product-focused visuals: close-up shots of foundation swatches, lipstick tubes, and full-face looks, paired with captions that read like notes from a friend who actually tests things before recommending them. What stands out most is the Story Highlights row, which is organized almost like a filing system. There is a “Foundation 101” highlight, a “Color 101” highlight, a “Burgundy eye” tutorial, and a running “Empties & Pans” series where she shows off products she has fully used up before saying goodbye to them. There is also a seasonal rhythm to it, with a “January review” highlight rounding up the month’s favorites and a “Low buy” highlight that tracks a lighter spending stretch. None of this looks improvised. It reads like a creator who thought about the account’s structure before posting the first photo, treating the Highlights bar as a table of contents rather than a place to dump one-off Stories.

The featured post pulled for this profile is a good example of the account’s visual range beyond the close-up swatches: a bold, editorial-style look built around color-blocked outerwear and statement accessories, shot on location rather than in a bathroom mirror. It is a reminder that “beauty and fashion” on this account covers styling choices as much as it covers what is in the makeup bag.

Why it works

Splitting off a dedicated beauty and fashion account instead of folding it into an existing, broader profile is a smart structural choice. It means every single post fits the same intent, so anyone who follows for lipstick swatches never has to scroll past unrelated content to find more of it. The “Empties & Pans” highlight in particular is a quiet trust signal: showing a product only after it has been fully used, rather than right after unboxing it, tends to read as more honest than a typical haul video. Combined with a modest, engaged 16.1k follower base rather than a sprawling one, the account has the feel of a curated resource more than a broadcast, and that scale also makes it a realistic reference point for anyone building a niche page from zero rather than trying to imitate an account with millions of followers and a full production team behind it.

What you can learn from this profile

A few takeaways stand out for anyone building their own beauty or fashion presence. First, a focused, single-purpose account can outperform a crowded, multi-topic one, since followers know exactly what they are signing up for. Second, turning Story Highlights into a labeled reference library (“101” tutorials, seasonal reviews, empties round-ups) gives new visitors an instant sense of what the account offers without digging through the grid. Third, showing products after real use, not just after opening them, builds more credibility than a purely aesthetic feed. And fourth, a smaller, more engaged audience can carry a beauty and fashion account just as far as a much larger one, especially when the content itself is this consistent.

Accounts like this are a good reminder that a beauty and fashion following doesn’t have to be built overnight, and for creators who are still working on the early stages of that growth, tools like a steady boost to your Instagram following can help a new, focused account like this one get in front of people faster while the content itself does the rest of the work.
