@s2rp3roi: Drone Photography Capturing Hawai’i’s Coastline

On Instagram, @s2rp3roi goes by Roy Estorpe, and the account’s bio makes the pitch in one line: “Capturing the beauty of Hawai’i from different perspective.” That perspective is almost always an aerial one. Based on Windward O’ahu, Estorpe has built an audience of roughly 36,700 followers around drone and wide-angle footage of the Hawaiian islands, from coastal cliffs to volcanic craters, and the account keeps growing on the strength of that single, consistent visual idea.

What they post and how

The feed reads like a running visual log of O’ahu and the wider islands. Recent uploads move between short aerial clips of ocean swells breaking against cliffs, drone passes over mountain ridgelines and volcanic craters, footage of waterfalls and a bridge tucked into a green valley, coastal-road shots, and the occasional ground-level moment mixed in through Reels. The account also covers local events from the air: one recent post shows the Lantern Floating Hawaii ceremony at Waikiki at dusk, with thousands of floating lanterns spread across the water and Diamond Head visible in the background, shot from a drone hovering over the shoreline crowd. Posting is frequent, several uploads a week through August 2026 alone, and almost everything leans on movement and scale rather than posed photography, which fits a creator working the landscape and travel-photography niche rather than portraiture. The profile is public, runs alongside a linked Threads account, and organizes its highlights by letter and number rather than by theme, which keeps the emphasis on the main grid instead of a curated series of saved Stories.

With around 2,620 accounts followed back, the profile reads as an active participant in Hawai’i’s outdoor and photography community rather than a purely one-way broadcast feed, which is common among location-focused creators who trade tips, scouting spots, and reposts with other photographers covering the same islands.

Why it works

Aerial landscape content earns attention because it shows a place at a scale most viewers never see in person. A drone pass over a crater rim or a cliff face does more visual work in a few seconds than a ground-level photo could, and Hawai’i’s geography is generous material for that approach: dramatic elevation changes, sharp coastlines, and water in almost every frame. Tying that footage to real, findable locations on O’ahu also gives the content a documentary edge that a purely aesthetic travel account would lack — it reads less like a highlight reel and more like a record of the islands as they actually look from above.

There’s also a practical reason this style travels well on Instagram specifically: vertical drone footage is built for the Reels format, and a subject like Hawai’i’s coastline gives a creator an effectively endless supply of new locations to cover without repeating a shot. That combination — a durable regional focus plus a format the platform actively promotes — is a large part of why an account built around one visual idea can keep finding new viewers well after the initial novelty of “drone footage” has worn off for most casual scrollers.

What you can learn from this profile

A few things stand out for anyone building a location-based or photography account. First, a narrow, repeatable visual format — in this case, aerial footage of one region — gives a feed instant recognizability, which matters more than variety when an audience is still forming. Second, tying content to real, specific places (a named beach, a named crater, a named public event like Lantern Floating Hawaii) makes posts easier to discover and easier to caption well, since there’s always something concrete to reference. Third, mixing short-form Reels with static aerial shots keeps the format from feeling repetitive even though the subject matter stays consistent. And fourth, a posting rhythm of several uploads a week, sustained over time, is doing a lot of the work behind the account’s engagement rate, which Modash currently estimates near 8.7 percent — well above what most accounts in this follower range see.

Growth like this on a visual, location-driven account is a reminder that consistency and a distinct point of view tend to matter more than chasing trends. For creators earlier in that process who want their content seen by more people while their own audience is still building, tools like a paid boost to an Instagram follower count are one option worth knowing about, though nothing replaces having a visual angle worth following in the first place.
