@chloelaverson: Whimsical Fandom Style With a Pastel Twist

@chloelaverson has built an Instagram feed around a very specific mood: soft, pink, and unapologetically nerdy. Her bio describes it best — “celebrating nerdy girlhood 24/7,” with “all things fantasy, fashion, & fandom.” That mix of whimsical style and fan culture is the real throughline of her account, and it lines up closely with the fantasy-and-fandom-driven fashion she’s known for online. It’s a niche that sits at the intersection of two audiences that don’t always overlap on Instagram: people who follow fashion accounts for outfit ideas, and people who follow fandom accounts for a shared love of a specific story, game, or aesthetic universe.

What they post and how

With close to 24,000 followers and more than 800 posts, chloelaverson treats her feed like a mood board for girlhood nostalgia: pastel outfits, Barbie references, Disney nods, and fantasy-adjacent styling that reads more like a character concept than a typical outfit-of-the-day post. The tone stays consistent post to post — soft lighting, pink and pastel color palettes, and captions that lean into a playful, slightly theatrical voice rather than a straightforward product pitch. That consistency is part of what makes the account easy to recognize in a crowded feed, even before a viewer reads a single caption.

Her bio also links out to an LTK shopping page, which is how a lot of fashion-focused creators turn a distinct aesthetic into a source of income — readers can shop the pieces that show up in her posts without her having to sell anything directly through a hard-sell caption. She’s also credited as part of “roll with her,” a fan project tied to her online persona, which fits neatly with a creator who leans this hard into fandom as an identity, not just a content theme. Between the shoppable links, the recurring fantasy motifs, and the fandom cross-promotion, the account reads less like a single content pillar and more like a small, self-consistent world that followers can opt into.

Why it works

Fantasy and fandom content is everywhere online, but most of it stays in cosplay or fan-art lanes that only show up around conventions or big franchise releases. What sets an account like chloelaverson’s apart is treating “girlhood fantasy” as an everyday fashion identity instead of a costume you put on once a year. The featured post below is a good example: a pink hair transformation done in partnership with a hair colorist, framed around a “Barbie girl winter” concept rather than a one-off summer trend. It’s playful, it’s visual, and it gives her audience a reason to come back for the next themed look rather than just another outfit photo.

That post also shows how a themed collaboration can outperform a standard post: pairing a niche-relevant partner (a hair salon, in this case) with a concept her audience already recognizes turns a routine beauty appointment into a piece of content people actually want to comment on. It’s a pattern worth noticing for any creator trying to make recurring collaborations feel native to their feed instead of like sponsored filler.

What you can learn from this profile

A few things stand out for anyone building a niche fashion account. First, a distinct color story (pink, pastel, fantasy-toned) makes a feed instantly recognizable even before someone reads the caption, which matters a lot when a viewer is scrolling past dozens of posts a minute. Second, collaborating with a specialist — in this case a hair salon for a pink dye transformation — gives a post a reason to exist beyond “here’s an outfit,” which tends to drive stronger engagement than a plain styled photo. Third, naming the fandom explicitly in a bio, rather than being vaguely “aesthetic,” helps the right audience self-select instantly instead of hoping the right people stumble onto the account. And finally, pairing a shoppable link (like an LTK page) with a strong visual identity turns casual scrollers into an actual audience for product recommendations, since the aesthetic itself is already doing the selling before any product ever gets tagged.

None of this requires a huge production budget. A consistent palette, a recognizable theme, and one well-placed collaboration per month can do more for an account’s identity than posting constantly without a throughline. That’s a useful reminder for any smaller fashion or fandom account trying to figure out what to prioritize first.

Creators who build this kind of loyal, style-driven following on Instagram often look to grow their presence on other short-form platforms at the same time, since fashion and fandom content tends to travel well across formats. For anyone in that position, InfluCheap’s TikTok growth options for US-based accounts are one option worth a look when expanding beyond a single platform.
