@kaitlawson_: A New Mom’s Book and Style Diary in Nashville

Kait Lawson posts on Instagram as @kaitlawson_, where she has built an audience of roughly 24,000 followers around a mix that reads a little differently from a typical style account. Her bio sums it up in a few words: new mom, “drummer’s wife,” person of faith, and self-described book lover, all based out of Nashville. Rather than sticking to one lane, she lets fashion, motherhood, and her reading habit share the same feed, and that combination is really the point of the account — it reads less like a curated storefront and more like one person’s actual year.

What she posts and how

@kaitlawson_ leans on Instagram Reels for most of her content, and by her own description they split between two main threads: book content and fashion content. Recent highlight categories on her profile include “2026 Books,” “2025 books,” “WHITE TEES,” “F•R•I•E•N•D•S,” and “Makeup content,” which lines up with that pattern — she is documenting what she is reading right alongside what she is wearing, with beauty posts filling in the gaps. It gives the page the feel of a personal journal more than a polished lookbook, which fits a creator who is candid about being in a new season of motherhood.

Her bio also points to a hoo.be link, a common way creators consolidate a handful of outbound links — a shopping guide, a registry, an affiliate page — in the one spot Instagram allows a clickable URL. It is a small detail, but it signals someone treating the account as more than a hobby: there is a light structure behind the posts, even if the tone stays casual. That structure shows up again in how she organizes her Highlights by year and by topic instead of leaving them as one undifferentiated grid, which makes it easier for a new visitor to jump straight to book recommendations or outfit posts depending on what brought them to the profile in the first place.

Why it works

The Nashville location adds another layer people can plug into — regional style accounts tend to build tighter, more engaged communities than national ones, since followers can actually use the recommendations locally, whether that means a boutique, a coffee shop, or a church community mentioned in passing. Pairing that with a recurring “what I’m reading” thread is a smart way to keep the account from feeling like it only exists to sell an outfit: book talk brings in a different kind of engagement (comments, recommendations, book-club energy) that a pure fashion feed usually does not get.

There is also a trust dividend to being upfront about the life stage behind the account. A lot of style pages try to project an aspirational, slightly unreachable version of a person; @kaitlawson_ instead leads with “new mama” and lets the reading list and the outfit posts follow from that reality. For an account sitting in the tens of thousands of followers rather than the millions, that kind of specificity tends to matter more than polish — it is the difference between a feed people scroll past and one they actually follow along with week to week, because the person behind it feels like someone they could run into at a Nashville coffee shop.

What you can learn from this profile

A few things stand out for anyone growing a similar account. First, combining two honest interests — here, books and style — gives you more to post about without diluting the page, as long as both threads are things you would talk about anyway even without a camera running. Second, naming your season of life in the bio (new mom, in this case) sets expectations and invites the right audience instead of forcing a persona that is hard to keep up post after post. Third, rotating Highlight categories by theme (“2026 Books,” “Makeup content,” “WHITE TEES”) makes it easy for a new visitor to find the content thread they actually came for, rather than scrolling through a mixed grid hoping to land on the right topic. Finally, a clear location tag like Nashville is free local SEO on the platform itself, helping the account surface for anyone searching that city’s style or book scene, and it gives local brands an easy reason to reach out.

There is a simpler lesson underneath all of that: consistency beats volume. @kaitlawson_ is not posting daily outfit shots or chasing every trend audio; the account holds its shape because the same two or three themes keep showing up in different forms — a new read, a new tee, a new makeup look, always filtered through the same “new mom in Nashville” lens. That repetition is what lets a following of roughly 24,000 people recognize the account at a glance, and it is a far more sustainable pace for someone balancing a young family with content creation than trying to post something new every single day.

None of this requires a big production budget — it is mostly about being consistent with a couple of honest interests and letting the bio do some of the work. Accounts like @kaitlawson_’s are a reminder that a following built around real habits, not just outfit posts, tends to hold an audience’s attention longer than one built purely on aspirational styling.
